Exports to China surged 119.3% year-on-year to $24.1 billion, supported by high-volume shipments of memory chips and industrial machinery. Deliveries to the United States grew 89.3% to $16.5 billion, led by strong demand for enterprise computing hardware and advanced semiconductors. Trade ministry records indicate that Korean exporters maintained growth across seven of the nation’s nine primary regional destination markets during the August reporting cycle.

    Computer Equipment Deliveries Reach Record High Monthly Volumes

    Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jung-kwan stated in an official release that non-semiconductor exports expanded by 20% overall, pointing to a broader recovery across secondary export industries. In addition to core technology components, secondary battery exports grew 24% to $600 million, while biohealth shipments rose 22.3% to a record $1.41 billion on expanded European supply contracts.
